I just completed the game and found this blog through DragonAge Wikia.
I want to say a big "Thank you" to the Dragon Age team for making this beautiful game. There is so much to love about it, thank you everybody for doing such a stellar job. It really feels like a labour of love, I'm hoping I'm right. :)

This world you have created together is going to stay in my head for a long time.

An excellent series of videos that gives a nice perspective on the development process and philosophy. I can already tell that the depth that has been put into creating an in-depth and meaningful setting and history will make for an excellent backdrop for the epic story that players will get to experience.

It seems like there will also be plenty of history, events and places that will only be mentioned in passing in the game, but that many more details of them will have been fleshed out in the notes of the writing/development team. That is what elevates a setting beyond being merely interesting and instead becoming believable.

As a player, you are mainly interested in the gaming experience but never really think about the scope of work that goes into making the game you had just enjoyed playing. It makes you appreciate the toil that the development team went through. How all the different aspects - the story, the music, the concept art to animation and level design - comes together is absolutely amazing.

I was already fascinated by Dragon Age and would be buying it as soon as it comes out. But, after looking at these documentaries, I'm really pumped up to be playing it. Dragon Age seems to be a game that will redefined the fantasy genre and take it to another epic level.
